چکیده
Lignin valorization is one of the biggest challenges for developing biomass-based chemical industry. Recent innovative works has enabled depolymerization lignin to monomers with yield close theoretical maximum. The main product a mixture phenols derived from cleavage β -O-4 linkages between phenylpropanoid units. However, obtained highly functionalized are not common in current industry and, therefore, needs further processing utilization intended applications. present study shows that simple without functional groups at para -position form selectively base-catalyzed lignin. sufficiently high, up 6.9% on carbon basis under examined conditions, but selectivity among released reaches 80%. also discusses mechanism p -unsubstituted formation.

Redox Catalysis Facilitates Lignin Depolymerization
Lignin is a recalcitrant and underexploited natural feedstock for aromatic commodity chemicals, and its degradation generally requires the use of high temperatures and harsh reaction conditions. Herein we present an ambient temperature one-pot process for the controlled oxidation and depolymerization of this potent resource. Harnessing the potential of electrocatalytic oxidation in conjugation ...
متن کاملStudies on the Vanadium-Catalyzed Nonoxidative Depolymerization of Miscanthus giganteus-Derived Lignin
Lignin samples isolated from Miscanthus giganteus using organosolv processes were treated with vanadium catalysts that were previously developed in our group. We demonstrate that the catalyst with high β-O-4′ bond-cleaving activity in dimeric lignin models was also effective in depolymerizing actual lignin. Molecular weight-lowering was evidenced by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), whereas ...

The steady state kinetic parameters Km and kcat for the oxidation of phenolic substrates by lignin peroxidase correlated with the presteady state kinetic parameters Kd and k for the reaction of the enzyme intermediate compound II with the substrates, indicating that the latter is the rate-limiting step in the catalytic cycle. ln Km and ln Kd values for phenolic substrates correlated with redox ...
متن کاملHydrogen transfer from supercritical methanol over a solid base catalyst: a model for lignin depolymerization.
A (super)critical transfer: The consecutive hydrogenolysis and hydrogenation of the lignin model compound dihydrobenzofuran was studied in supercritical methanolic solutions using porous metal oxide catalysts. These catalysts promote H(2) production from methanol followed by hydrogenolysis of the ether linkages and reduction of the aromatic rings, leading principally to a mixture of cyclohexanols.
متن کاملDepolymerization of Lignin in Wood with Molecular Hydrogen Iodide
Depolymerization of lignin in wood with hydrogen iodide in a nonpolar solvent is a selective, high-yield reaction that releases a diiodide of potential synthetic value into the solution. Finely milled wood (Douglas-fir, spruce, aspen, and sugarcane), was suspended in CDCl3 and treated with dry hydrogen iodide in a NMR tube. The yields and composition of the chloroform-soluble monomeric lignin d...
